Earlier today, it emerged that the much-anticipated launch may be pushed back after the White House announced that Obama may choose to make his speech the same evening.
Under the hashtag '#NoStateofUnionFeb2', one fan wrote: "Hey Obama, don't mess with the Lost season 6 premiere *shakes fist violently* Go screw Idol over".
Another tweeted: "Barack Obama has clearly never seen Josh Holloway without a shirt on."
Some Twitter users have defended the White House, arguing: "Since when did TV shows become more important than the State of Union... crazy Americans."
The White House is yet to announce whether President Obama's speech will take place Tuesday February 2, or the week before on January 26.
