A total of 12,000 fans were treated to an advance screening of the season six premiere, which airs Tuesday at 8pm in the US.
Acording to The AP, stars of the ABC series made special appearances in anticipation of the preview, including actor Josh Holloway, who plays Sawyer.
"It's like being in high school. It's like being a senior - getting near the last days of school," he said.
Michael Emerson, who portrays Ben Linus, admitted that even he is perplexed as to where the story is going. "I'm in a state of confusion," he explained.
"Some big chunks are falling into place every week, but still I don't know where it's going. I thought midway through [filming] the final season I would be able to begin to see the end. It's not the case."
Co-creator Damon Lindelof added that he has a rule of thumb for revealing the programme's key secrets.
"Our rule of thumb is if the characters who crashed on Oceanic 815 care about it, or if the answer is relevant to them, we're going to answer it," he said. "But if it's a mystery that the fans care about that has no bearing on the lives of our characters, we're not going to answer it."
