In an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, Mader, who will return to the role of Charlotte in an upcoming episode, also said that fans may not get closure on her character's story.
Asked what is was like to be reunited with Jeremy Davies (Faraday), she replied: "I wasn't! It was great to go back you know because I've really missed everybody - the crew and the cast.
"I was so happy to be back with everyone, I had a really good time."
Mader said that the pair's love story may remain up in the air when the sixth and final season finishes later this year.
Discussing her return, she added: "It's not brief but it's unlikely to give a million answers. I can't tell you why! I can't wait for people to see it - it's really, really cool."
Lost continues Tuesdays at 9pm on ABC in the US and Fridays at 9pm on Sky1 in the UK.
