Cult show Lost returns for the second part of its third season on Sunday February 11 at 10.00pm on Sky One.
The show follows a group of plane crash survivors stranded on a mysterious island. The first six episodes in season three ended with Jack threatening not to perform life-saving surgery on Ben, leader of island-dwellers The Others, if they did not let fellow plane crash survivors Sawyer and Kate escape.
In the return episode, Not In Portland, Kate and Sawyer find an unexpected ally in one of The Others, while Ben's fate is revealed, with 'Other' Juliet making a decision that could endanger her standing with her people.
Creators of the series have also promised to answer some of the shows ongoing mysteries, as well as returning the focus to the survivor's beach camp, rather than The Others', which featured heavily in the earlier episodes.
Executive producer Damon Lindelof has revealed that viewers will learn more about the giant carved foot found at the end of season two, the mysteries behind Locke and his wheelchair and Jack and his tattoos.
New characters will also appear, including Hurley’s estranged father, who will be played by Mexican-American actor Cheech Marin, star of the Cheech and Chong films.
The series will also continue to be shown in high definition, with a repeat of the first six episodes of season three showing Monday to Saturday in the run up to the new episode.
A one-hour special including interviews with the executive producers Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, a look at the cast back-stories and setting up how the series will develop, will air on Friday February 9 at 10.10pm.
