S04E04: 'Eggtown'

Locke is keeping Ben prisoner in the basement of a house he is staying at in the barracks, although he is angry that his captive will not give up more information. After tricking Hurley into giving up his location, Kate asks Miles what she knows about her - but he will only tell her once he arranges a meeting with Ben.

When the pair do meet, Miles demands $3.2 million in cash to tell his bosses on the boat that Ben is dead. Locke is angry when he walks in on the meeting and soon puts a live grenade in Miles' mouth - which will detonate if he drops it. Sawyer is sexually frustrated that Kate will not sleep with him, despite her claims that she is not pregnant.

Charlotte calls the boat on a special emergency number only to discover that the helicopter carrying Frank, Desmond and Sayid has not arrived - despite leaving the previous day.

In a flashforward, Kate discovers she faces charges for her past crimes and is held on remand. However, the case falls apart when her dying mother refuses to give evidence despite Kate denying her access to her new grandson. Prior to this, Jack appears as a character witness and swears on an oath that only eight people survived the initial Oceanic crash.

Later, once Kate is free, Jack tells her he loves her. Kate says that she will not go out with him until he accepts her son Aaron. That is the name of Claire's child on the island.
