Steger, who plays Navid Shirazi on The CW's spinoff show, is quoted by the Daily Star as saying: "The material is awesome storytelling, people are going to really enjoy it. It's so exciting."
The actor said that he was looking forward to the prospect of appearing on screen with members of the original cast.
He explained: "Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor) is doing it, she's going to be a part of it and she is a sweetheart. I got to talk to her a lot in New York. I haven't had any scenes with her yet but she is working and has a really big part in the show.
"I know Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh) is going to be on the show, people are really excited about that so there's a lot to look forward to."
Tori Spelling withdrew from 90210 earlier in the week citing "personal reasons".
