Priestley to helm "ambitious" '90210' ep

Jason Priestley will direct an episode of The CW's Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff.

The actor, who starred as Brandon Walsh in the original series, told Entertainment Weekly that he will not reprise his character for the teen soap but instead helm an "ambitious" episode.

He said: "I have a lot of challenges ahead of me on how to shoot this - it's big. A female ends up in hospital, but I can tell you that no one is giving birth. The episode is very ambitious, production wise."

Priestley has refused to completely rule out an acting return to 90210, which has already seen Jennie Garth and Shannon Doherty bring back their old characters.

"Never say never, right?" he commented.

Priestley previously directed episodes of the original 90210 series and has recently helmed instalments of ABC Family's The Secret Life Of The American Teenager.
