The 23-year-old actress, who plays Adrianna Tate-Duncan in 90210, said that the singer and actor - who is Miley Cyrus' father - was incredible to work with.
"Working with Billy Ray Cyrus was seriously so incredible," Lowndes told told Us Weekly at The CW's recent Upfronts presentation. "He's the nicest guy."
Cyrus starred on 90210's fourth season as Judd Ridge, a country music star who is Austin Tallridge's (Justin Deeley) father.
Lowndes's character was seen spending time with Austin as she pursued a music career, and she is hoping that Adrianna will continue in the same vein on season five of the show.
She said: "Hopefully, there's some more singing stuff. I really enjoyed the country stuff. It's completely out of my comfort zone and it's very different from my own original music, but I love it."
Lowndes also spoke about the fourth season finale of 90210, in which it appeared her character's ex-boyfriend Dixon Wilson (Tristan Wilds) had jilted her again but had in fact been involved in a potentially fatal car crash.
"Adrianna definitely left on a very strong note: getting on a plane, deciding that she was going to give up boys for a little bit, and focusing strictly on her country singing career," she said. "And then Dixon, her ex-boyfriend, the love of her life, got into a horrific car accident, so that's definitely going to be a struggle for her.
"She thinks that he's ditched her, too, so that's going to be interesting when she actually finds out what really happened."
