Details of 'Beverly Hills' spinoff emerge

Plot details of the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff in development for The CW have been released.

The show appears to have secured a pilot order, as main characters have been outlined in order for casting to begin before a script is completed.

At the centre of the revival are the Mills family, who have recently moved to Beverly Hills from the Midwest. Father Harry, a former Beverly Hills High student, moved away after graduating but has returned to look after his mother - a 1970s movie star-turned-alcoholic.

A possible link to the original is through characters 16-year-old Daphne Silver and her twenty-something brother Max. They have the same surname as 90210's David Silver (Brian Austin Green), who married Donna Martin (Tori Spelling). The brother and sister live on their own in a mansion and their parents have disappeared "on a cruise".

There are three other characters outlined who are all 16-year-old Beverly Hills High students. One, reflecting the changed ethnic makeup of the real-life school, is called Navid Shirazi.
