Speaking to Access Hollywood, the actress said: "I would love to be a part of it. I would play the sexy mum. Every teen drama has that. I'd be the stepmother obviously as I couldn't possibly have a teenage daughter!"
Spelling played Donna Martin in the popular '90s series, which will be revived in a spinoff pilot from Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas.
The 34-year-old added that the show, which ran from 1990 to 2000, was groundbreaking on its initial run.
"90210 was really the first of its kind," Spelling said. "It kind of laid the way for other shows like The OC and Dawson's Creek. It won't be a unique thing, as there's already been a few 90210 replications."
The new 90210 reportedly features 16-year-old Daphne Silver and her brother Max, who live in a mansion while their parents are away "on a cruise". In the original series, Brian Austin Green's character David Silver married Spelling's Donna Martin.
