The former Melrose Place star will play new West Beverly High principal Harry Mills in the CW show, which was confirmed last week.
The updated version sees Mills move his wife (Lori Loughlin) and children (Shenae Grimes and Tristan Wilds) from Kansas to Beverly Hills to look after his alcoholic mother (Arrested Development's Jessica Walter).
Original cast member Jennie Garth will reprise her role as Kelly Taylor, while Tori Spelling is also rumoured to have landed a part.
90210 will air in the US later this year.
