NBC announced in May that 30 Rock would come to an end this season with 13 new episodes, including a one-hour season finale.
Baldwin has now revealed that he tried to convince NBC to renew 30 Rock beyond season seven, even after previously saying he was looking forward to the show's end.
"I offered NBC to cut my pay 20% in order to have a full 7th and 8th seasons of 30 Rock. I realise times have changed," the actor tweeted on Thursday (October 4).
He added: "I am looking forward to some time off. A lot of time off. What would you do if you had more free time?"
Baldwin admitted earlier in the week that 30 Rock's cast "are very sad" about its approaching end.
"We've known from the beginning that it was going to end sooner than later," he said.
"After Seasons 5 and 6 they would advise us - [people said,] 'We're going to get the word any day now that it's run its course'. Now they told us this year would be it."
30 Rock airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC.
