The set was reportedly shut down recently after David Boreanaz - Seeley Joseph Booth on the show - was sick with flu-like symptoms.
"First time in Bones history we are shut down from production," creator Hart Hanson tweeted. "Damn swine flu! That's gonna cut into Christmas hiatus."
A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox TV confirmed: "David is out with the flu and the show shut down today since he was in every scene. We hope to resume production tomorrow."
However, Hanson later added via Twitter: "Oops! There is no indication that Boreanaz has swine flu. We expect him back tomorrow. I'm now going out to get swine flu myself in atonement."
The sixth season premiere of Bones recently pulled in 10.1m for Fox.
