Viewers saw sinister scientist Bell killed in the second season finale, which aired on May 20.
However, speaking on the DVD commentary track for the episode, showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci admitted that they plan to bring Nimoy back in a future episode.
The pair also referred to Bell's exit as an "apparent death".
Producer Jeff Pinkner previously indicated that the show's writers "have another story in mind" for the character, while Nimoy himself has also said that Bell's final fate "remains to be seen".
The third season of Fringe begins on September 23 on Fox.
