The producer joked to Blastr that an alternate version of the show might have featured the parallel Fringe team of Alt-livia, Charlie and Lincoln.
"We love imagining that in the alternate universe, there's a show called Fringe... that was about this [other] team," he revealed. "Exploring that other aspect of [Alt-livia's] life has been great for us. Again, in the stories we tell, [about] choices and a life not lived, it's really great to see this other Olivia's life because it tells us so much about [our own]."
Wyman explained that the differences between the original Fringe characters and their doubles were "based on the choices that have been made".
"All of the doppelgangers... are based on... different life experiences, but for alt-Astrid," he said. "Alt-Astrid is an instance where she's different genetically. Everybody else is identical genetically, they're just different based on nurture."
Wyman's co-producer Jeff Pinkner previously suggested that an alternate version of Nina Sharp (Blair Brown) could soon join the show.
Fringe continues tonight at 9/8c on Fox.
