Emily Meade has signed up to play a potentially recurring role on Fringe.

The Boardwalk Empire actress will appear in the show's third season finale as a rookie FBI agent, according to TV Line.

Her character could return for further appearances if Fringe is picked up for a fourth run.

Meade has previously played guest roles on both the original Law & Order and its spinoff Law & Order: SVU. Her film credits include last year's Twelve and 2008's Assassination of a High School President.

Fringe showrunner Jeff Pinkner previously claimed that the season finale, which is expected to air on May 6, will "unfurl in a very unexpected way for the characters and the audience".

The series continues on Fox this Friday at 9/8c.
