The actress - who plays Olivia Dunham - told TVLine that fans will come away from the Fox sci-fi drama's final episode "not necessarily happy, but not heartbroken".
"In film, you can have sad endings," said Torv. "But with television you put so much time into these people that when you do finally say goodbye, you should be satisfied.
"Then again, this is Fringe," she added. "We've sort of turned things on their head the whole way through."
The Australian star also revealed that "there will be some prices to pay" for the show's characters in the last episodes, while also hinting at "a lot of callbacks" to previous seasons.
Fringe showrunner Joel Wyman previously explained that the final season focuses on themes of "emotion" and "family", while Torv's co-star Joshua Jackson has claimed that a "sense of dread" will run throughout the Fox sci-fi drama's remaining episodes.
The show's final run continues tonight at 9/8c on Fox in the US and will debut in the UK on Sky1 on October 24.
