According to Entertainment Weekly, 'Til I Come Home' will be heard in an emotional scene featuring Daphne (Kay Panabaker), the daughter of Jim Powell (Chiklis).
"I've been a musician my whole life," said the actor. "I'm really enjoying making music again and this is a real band! Also, this was written and recorded in my house!"
Chiklis confirmed that the song was originally written as a tribute to US troops overseas, including his own cousin.
"This is not a product of the machine," he explained. "It's just heartfelt, homegrown music. [There's] more to come too."
No Ordinary Family airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC. 'Til I Come Home' will feature in an episode airing March 1.
