'Walking Dead' unveils new season three trailer at Comic-Con - watch
The promo, unveiled today (July 13) at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego, shows new footage from the third run of the AMC zombie show.
It was also announced that the premiere of The Walking Dead's third season will take place on Sunday, October 14 on AMC in the US, and will then be made available to international markets within hours on Monday, October 15.
"Season two of The Walking Dead marked the best performance for a US cable show in our international markets. It delivered record-breaking ratings in both the US and internationally," said Sharon Tal Yguado, SVP Scripted Programming at Fox International Channels.
"We are committed to ensuring the best viewing experience for these clearly committed fans. We think the global launch strategy is a key part of this series' international success, and are excited to be working so closely with our partners at AMC on blowing it out of the park again this year."
Last month, the series showed off the first official photo of fan-favourite character The Governor, who will be played by David Morrissey.
Showrunner Glen Mazzara recently claimed that the new episodes will be almost "too exciting" and "too packed" for viewers.
"I guarantee people will say the show is moving too fast and it's too packed," he said. "'There's too much going on, I can't take it, it's too exciting'.
"Trust me, I know people are going to say that because we are really hitting the ground running... the audience will have to work hard to keep up because we have a very accelerated pace of storytelling."
The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and FX in the UK.
