The 58-year-old, who appeared as a judge on the first four series of the UK version of the competition told Hollyscoop that Simon Cowell would not "take on" another "opinionated" Osbourne.
"I think Simon would have the same opinion about Kelly that he does of me, that we're both too opinionated. I think he had enough of me," she quipped. "I don't think he wants to take on another Osbourne."
However, Sharon called on Cowell to hire his former American Idol colleague Paula Abdul for the programme.
"I think Simon should take Paula because they work so well together and they've got great chemistry," she said.
Earlier this month, Cowell confirmed that Abdul is among a "smaller group" of people who are still in the running to land a position on the panel.
