Series creator and judge Simon Cowell's former co-mentor Sinitta claimed last week that Carey would aid Cowell in judging contestants on the talent competition. Cowell confirmed that Carey would be involved with the show "in some form" in April.
Asked if there is any truth to Sinitta's claims, X Factor USA judge Paula Abdul told Extra: "It will be a blessing if she is. There are several other amazing people that are going to be joining."
Fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger added: "We could learn a lot from her!"
Cowell recently insisted that he would find a role for Carey on the show as he loves her both personally and professionally.
The X Factor USA premieres September 21 on Fox.
