The 14-year-old from Arizona performed a slow, soulful version of 'Baby' for judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, LA Reid and Paula Abdul on Wednesday night's episode of the Fox singing competition.
In her intro video, the teenager had admitted to being a huge Bieber fan, saying: "Justin Bieber is so cute because of his hair, the way he flips it is cute! His favourite colours are purple and red."
Ryniewicz went into the audition particularly hoping to impress former Island Def Jam chairman LA Reid, who signed Bieber. "He is a big part of Justin Bieber, the biggest part I would say in his career," she said.
After announcing to the judges that she planned to sing 'Baby', record exec Reid warned her that he could be "harsh and critical" because he is so close to the song. However, she chose to go ahead anyway, putting her own twist on the track.
Reid said: "That was so original. I love how you took it and really made it yours. It was soulful and believable. You are special."

Scherzinger and Cowell both admitted that they preferred Ryniewicz's version of 'Baby' to the original song, with Cowell saying that Ryniewicz had done exactly what he wanted a 14-year-old to do on the show because people her own age would buy the track.
Scherzinger added: "It's hard for me because I'm a real Justin Bieber fan and I like the original version which is why it's so interesting that I prefer your version to his."
Abdul called the audition "commendable, original, daring and bold".
The X Factor, which was open to singers and groups from the age of 12 upwards, will award its winner a $5 million recording contract and the chance to appear in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial.
