The Judges' Houses stage of The X Factor began with an audience of 10.8m last night, preliminary data indicates.

Simon Cowell's new talent contest, which had been postponed after Wednesday's delayed baseball match, continued with a 3.6 18-49 demo rating - its lowest so far.

However, X Factor still led Fox to another Thursday night victory.

CBS's Big Bang Theory dipped to a season low of 13.3m (4.4) at 8pm, after which a repeat of the sitcom - replacing Rules of Engagement for one week only - fetched 12m (3.7).

The Tiffany Network's 9pm showing of Person of Interest picked up 11.9m (2.7), and 12.3m (2.5) watched The Mentalist an hour later.

On NBC, Community, Parks & Recreation and The Office climbed to 3.8m (1.7), 4m (2.1) and 6.1m (3.2), but then Whitney and Prime Suspect fell to 4.2m (2.0) and 4.5m (1.3).

Meanwhile, Charlie's Angels, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice all rose to 6m (1.3), 9.7m (3.4) and 6.7m (2.4) respectively for ABC.

Elsewhere, The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle grabbed 2.8m (1.4) and 1.8m (0.8).
