While judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and LA Reid offered some constructive (and some not-so-constructive) feedback, it's always a guessing game as to who will fall into the bottom two. Stay with Digital Spy from 8/7c to find out which hopeful will be eliminated!

21.00: That'll do it for this week! Come back next Tuesday (special night!) for the Top 9's performances!
20.58: "I just want to say and take a serious moment to thank the judges. I had an amazing journey. I wasn't always happy with my song choices and don't believe that I did great last night," Stacy says following her exit.
"I have to suck up my pride and take responsiblity for the performance I gave. This journey has been really great. I can't believe I'm going home, but someone has to. I want to thank Simon Cowell for giving me a chance. I'm 42 years old, and he gave me the chance to sing for the world week after week."
20.54: Let's get to it - LA names Stacy as the act he's sending home. Nicole, of course, stands by her own act and sends Astro out. Paula advises both of the contestants to "walk with gratitude" before sending Stacy home, so it's down to Simon.
Astro says that he doesn't want to perform for people who don't want him there, but he's clearly upset and begins to cry. However, Simon wants a guarantee that he will be more respectful and have a better attitude in the future. Eventually, he decides to send Stacy out, and she's going home.
20.48: Astro could pretty much tap dance and bang on a trash can lid and still beat Stacy, at this point, but I'm looking forward to seeing him turning out. He announces that he doesn't even want to perform, but lets LA decide. Oh, little Astro - he's got a bit of a sore loser attitude, but he's young, so we'll forget it.
He performs an original number and is really good - always has been, so I don't think his performances are what's landed him in the bottom but rather the genre. I do worry that his laissez-faire approach might come off as a bit grating tonight, however.
20.44: Nicole tearfully introduces Stacy first, who's singing 'Amazing Grace' - a painfully off-key version, might I add. Oh, dear. This is not good at all.
20.37: This is a bit ridiculous as only one of the four left deserves to be in the bottom. Anyway, the next act through is Drew Ryniewicz and finally, Rachel Crow, thank goodness! It couldn't have gone any other way. Since Stacy and Astro are in the bottom two, I think that pretty much seals Stacy's fate. Either way, they'll both sing for survival... after the break, of course.
20.31: We'll be seeing Chris Rene again next week, along with Melanie Amaro. Josh Krajcik also gets through, as does Marcus Canty. What?!
20.28: It's time for more results! The judges bring their acts back on stage for the reveal. Since two of my least favourites have already been given a pass to next week, we might be in for a surprise tonight. Stacy Francis will definitely be in trouble, I think.
20.22: Rihanna's got advice for the hopefuls: "Love what you do. If you don't, it's a waste of time. It's not easy, it's really hard. If you love it, it never feels like work." I'm pretty sure it still feels like work... work that's worth it, mind, but work nonetheless.
20.17: Rihanna takes the stage for her first performance of 'We Found Love'. I absolutely adore Rihanna, this song, and the entire Talk That Talk album, for that matter. She's definitely one of the best pop stars out there right now. I'm pretty sure she's lip syncing, but I can't even be mad - she's that amazing.
The whole place goes wild, jumping and dancing around... and now I can't wait for Rihanna to tour this album. Oh, and the vocals are (somewhat) live, I've decided.
20.14: We are treated to a video roundup of the contestants' experience with photographer Brian Smith, who's shot everyone from Missy Elliott to Shakira. Not exactly music royalty, but we'll take it. They all got to have their pictures taken in a personalised shoot and are quite excited about the whole thing. They also get a free camera from Sony. Gotta love free stuff.
20.08: After a recap of last night, Paula is feeling "confident" about Lakoda Rayne's chances of staying in the competition. I personally hope she's wrong, but that's just me.
Anyway, it's time for the first results! Steve announces that in no particular order, the first act voted through to next week is LeRoy Bell. Right behind him is Lakoda Rayne. Ugh.
20.04: "Rock us, didn't they just?" says a chipper Steve Jones. Talk about awkward. He then goes to Simon to ask his thoughts on last night's performances. "It was amazing. I've got to say, apart from my own contestants who did brilliantly, two others stood out for me - Josh and Astro," says Simon.
20.00: And we're off! The group performance this week is 'We Will Rock You'... Is it just me, or are these always semi-awkward?
