The 42-year-old singer fell into the bottom two during Thursday night's live results show alongside Brian 'Astro' Bradley, after the pair were revealed to have received the lowest number of public votes.
"I just want to say and take a serious moment to thank the judges. I had an amazing journey. I wasn't always happy with my song choices and don't believe that I did great last night," Francis said following her exit.
"I have to suck up my pride and take responsiblity for the performance I gave. This journey has been really great. I can't believe I'm going home, but someone has to. I want to thank Simon Cowell for giving me a chance. I'm 42 years old, and he gave me the chance to sing for the world week after week."

Both acts sang again for judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and LA Reid, with Francis performing a version of 'Amazing Grace'. Meanwhile, Astro performed an original rap with lyrics written about the panelists and his experience in the competition.
However, he nearly did not perform, insisting that he should not have to go in front of people who do not want him around.
Only Scherzinger voted to save her act Francis, with Cowell, Reid and Abdul all choosing Astro to remain in the competition.
The acts remaining in the competition alongside Astro are Marcus Canty, Drew Ryniewicz, LeRoy Bell, Astro, Rachel Crow, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro.
Tonight's episode also included a performance by Rihanna, who premiered her single 'We Found Love' live on television for the first time.
The X Factor USA continues on Tuesday (November 22) at 8/7c on Fox.
