'X Factor' USA: Two acts to be sent home next week

X Factor USA's remaining contestants will face a double elimination on next week's results show, it has been announced.

Fox confirmed in a press release that the Top 9 will take to the stage on the special night of Tuesday, November 22 next week for the latest round of live performances, with two acts being sent home on the Wednesday, November 23 results show.

Fans can vote as soon as the performance show has ended in one of five ways: Twitter, Verizon Touch Voting on The Xtra Factor App on Verizon Android devices, toll-free calling, text messaging for Verizon Wireless customers, or online at TheXFactorUSA.com.

Fans with valid Facebook accounts can also vote at Facebook.com/TheXFactorUSA.

This week's X Factor performance show saw the Top 10 tackling a Rock Week theme, with acts taking on tracks by artists including Foo Fighters, U2, Meat Loaf and Janis Joplin.

Stacy Francis and Astro were the two acts who landed in the bottom two, and after performing their survival songs it was Francis who left the competition.

"I just want to say and take a serious moment to thank the judges. I had an amazing journey. I wasn't always happy with my song choices and don't believe that I did great last night," Francis said following her exit.

Francis added: "This journey has been really great. I can't believe I'm going home, but someone has to. I want to thank Simon Cowell for giving me a chance. I'm 42 years old, and he gave me the chance to sing for the world week after week."

The acts who remain in the running to win the $5 million recording contract prize are: Astro, Josh Krajcik, Melanie Amaro, Marcus Canty, Drew, Rachel Crow, LeRoy Bell, Chris Rene and Lakoda Rayne.

X Factor continues Tuesday at 8/7c on Fox
