Brian 'Astro' Bradley and Drew Ryniewicz have become the sixth and seventh acts to be eliminated from the Top 12 of X Factor USA's first season.

15-year-old rapper Astro was eliminated first during Thursday night's live results show after it was revealed that he had scored the lowest number of public votes following Wednesday's Michael Jackson-themed performance night.

"Hey, man, it's for the better. The only reason I'm mad is 'cos I don't get to see my girl who lives in Cali. But I'll be back. I love my fans, I loved X Factor and I wish [everyone] the best of luck. It ain't over yet," Astro said following his exit.

Falling into the bottom two during the latter half of the show were Ryniewicz and Marcus Canty, with both singers performing again for judges Simon Cowell, LA Reid, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul with the hope of remaining in the competition.

Drew performed a cover of Roxette's 'Listen to Your Heart', while Canty chose the Gladys Knight & The Pips track 'Neither One of Us'. While both received generally positive feedback from the judges, the panel was generally agreed upon who should go home.

Cowell unsurprisingly chose to save his own act, Ryniewicz. However, Reid, Scherzinger and Abdul were all agreed that Canty should be the one to remain in the competition and chose to send the 14-year-old singer home.

Reid offered encouragement to Ryniewicz, saying: "Drew, I had fun with you. I know at times you thought I was being mean, but never, because I've always believed in you and complimented your talent. You've done a great job."

The teen was visibly emotional following her elimination, saying through tears: "I want to say thank you to my fans. I'm going to keep going and I'm going to keep going 'cause I have a lot more to show you, there's a lot more of me and it's a lot different.

"Jesus loves all of you guys - I haven't gotten to say it and it's truly why I was in the competition and now I'm saying it!"

The acts remaining in the competition alongside Canty are Rachel Crow, Chris Rene, Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro.

Tonight's episode also included a performance from Tinie Tempah with his hit single 'Pass Out'.

The X Factor USA continues on Wednesday (December 7) at 8/7c on Fox.
