The model and presenter, who recently took husband Nick Lachey's last name, revealed that she hoped to host the musical competition.
"They went with a British guy," Vanessa told the New York Post, referring to host Steve Jones.
"You can't get more polar opposite, so I am okay with that," she added. "Now if the host was a brunette girl in her early 30s, I would be like, 'Wait a minute!'"
Vanessa recently said she hopes to have children with Nick in the future, though they are in no hurry to rush the process.
Earlier this month, Jones admitted that hosting The X Factor USA was more difficult than he thought it would be, though he would like to return for the show's second season.
