The former Destiny's Child star judged the UK version of The X Factor last year, but recently told CNN that she would love to join Simon Cowell on the US version of the reality competition as well.
"It would be awesome to be a judge over here for X Factor. I really enjoyed my time over in the UK being a judge," Rowland said.
She added: "[The X Factor] was a great opportunity and a great experience, and I would love to do it again."
Earlier this month, X Factor judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger departed the show after only one season as did host Steve Jones.
Simon Cowell recently discussed possible replacements for Abdul and Scherzinger and ruled out rumoured contenders Mariah Carey, Sir Elton John and Beyoncé.
First season judge LA Reid has already been confirmed to be returning with Cowell to The X Factor.
The X Factor's second season premieres later this year on Fox.
