Britney Spears: 'I had panic attacks on first day of X Factor USA'

Britney Spears has revealed that she suffered panic attacks on her first day as a judge on The X Factor USA.

The 30-year-old singer admitted that she was overcome by nerves when she started her new job.



"[I was] extremely nervous. I was having panic attack after panic attack," she told Elle.

Spears began filming for the show in May but co-judge Simon Cowell said she has grown into the role throughout the audition process.

He revealed: "On the first day, 100% she didn't think she was going to be able to do this. It's the Roman Colosseum – 5,000 people booing if you say no.

"But I'm seeing this woman blossom week by week doing this. I think she's going to be good for the show, and I think the show is going to be good for her."



Spears was revealed as the cover star for the October issue of Elle magazine yesterday.

She later tweeted her excitement: "Had SOOOO much fun doing this @ELLEmagazine shoot - hits stands next week!"

The issue features an interview with Spears and fiancé Jason Trawick where he admits it was Britney who made the first move in their relationship.

Britney's X Factor USA debut airs next week in the US whilst a UK air date has yet to be confirmed.
