The X Factor USA has kicked off its second season without a host, with the pair expected to join the series at the live show stage in November.
Kardashian and Lopez were first named as potential co-hosts in mid-September, while Lopez was also linked with the role before the first season.
Simon Cowell has spoken of his admiration for Kardashian, saying that she was a front-runner to host the show last month.
