Britney Spears thought 'X Factor' USA was 'a bad show'?

By
Britney Spears's representatives have branded The X Factor USA "a bad show" following the star's departure after just one season.

Spears confirmed her exit from the Fox contest on Friday (January 11) amid rumours that X Factor creator Simon Cowell had planned to remove her from the panel.

It had also been claimed that Spears left after her request for a $3m (£1.8m) pay rise, which would have brought her salary for season three to $18m (£11m), was turned down by bosses who thought she "wasn't worth that much".

Insiders close to the 'Hold It Against Me' singer have now dismissed the claims of her wanting a bonus, and teased that Spears was not desperate to stay on the show because she "has a career".

"Vegas has been wooing her," a source close to Spears told tabloid watchdog Gossip Cop.

"For millions, why would she stay on a bad show - she is in demand - has a career."

Reports suggest that Spears could earn up to $100m (£62m) over two years if she agrees to a Las Vegas residency.
