Kelly Rowland, Paulina Rubio confirmed as new 'X Factor' USA judges

Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio are to join the judging panel of The X Factor USA, it has been confirmed.

Rowland and Rubio will join Simon Cowell and returning judge Demi Lovato on the show following the departures of Britney Spears and LA Reid, Fox announced on Monday (May 20).

Cowell said in a statement: "It's taken more than a decade, but I'm delighted to finally be on a panel with three girls (I think!).

"Paulina and Kelly both have great taste and massive experience in the music industry and together with Demi, this is going to be a fun panel. It just feels like the time to do something different."

Rowland said: "I am very excited to be reuniting with Simon Cowell and The X Factor family."

The Destiny's Child member, who was a judge on the UK edition of The X Factor during 2011, added: "It feels great to be able to take this journey here at home in the States."

Rubio, who is a former coach on Mexico's version of The Voice, added: "I love The X Factor! I can't wait to find the next big music star here in America. I'm so thrilled to be part of the show as a judge.

"Simon, be careful what you wish for. Let's see if you are ready to handle me. Empieza la fiesta, amigo!" ("The party's getting started, my friend!")

Mario Lopez will be returning to the show as sole host, after show bosses decided not to renew his co-presenter Khloe Kardashian's contract.

Other names linked to positions on the judging panel included Hilary Duff, Katy Perry, Cheryl Cole and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
