Adam said that while Angel was nervous in the beginning, there was something about her voice that grabbed his attention immediately. Cee Lo compliments her looks, of course, and also enjoyed her voice, as she was able to stay in a difficult register for the entirety of the song. Blake (who she has a crush on) admits that he doesn't know what he can do for Angel but that he will do whatever he can to help her succeed. Still, Adam thinks he can do better.
After being given a few minutes to think about her decision, Angel decides to work with Adam.
Cee Lo could hear the "swag" with his back turned, adding that Jermaine sang with a cool confidence and has the total package as an artist. Blake thinks that he blew them away but admits that he has a lot of work to do when Jermaine asks if he'll be kept in the competition. Blake promises never to lie but wants to work to make him reach his best. Eventually, Jermaine decides to go with Blake.
Hoja sings Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' - her voice is definitely different and I can't decide if it's brilliant or terrible. Apparently, the coaches are more in the latter party, as none of them turn around. Blake thinks it was good, but wasn't what he was looking for. Adam notices that her nerves got in the way and says that he's sorry as he knows that she couldn't help it.
Christina is the first to turn around, though Cee Lo likes it, as well, and turns around. Blake follows and I have to wonder what kept Adam from pressing his button. Blake loves her voice and her hair, which Cee Lo agrees with. Blake compares her to Fiona Apple and thinks she's beautiful. Christina enjoyed every second of it, calling it a creative and original choice, which she did so well. She adds that she wants to "play" with Lindsey and experiment on new sounds.
Cee Lo thinks that the performance was the "coolest" thing to happen in the auditions thus far and appreciates that it took him a moment to realise which song she was singing. Given her choice, Lindsey decides to work with Christina.
Unfortunately, it's bad news for Dez. Cee Lo thinks that he did a great job and admits that he was encouraging Adam to pick him. Adam thinks that it wasn't a perfect fit and that they might not have gotten on well stylistically. Christina feels the most guilt as he's "adorable" and admits that while she was really close to pressing her button for him, she got nervous. Dez heads home, back to Yale.
Cee Lo turns around, but the others refrain. Blake loves the long note she ended the performance with, while Cee Lo says that she's hot and that she belongs to him, as he loves a woman with guts, power and confidence. Christina appreciates that she was on pitch the whole time and Angie is pleased to be working with Cee Lo.
Adam turns around first, but Christina isn't far behind. Adam jokes that her name must be Chaka Khan, and he's happy with what he saw when he turned around. Christina knew that she was a "force to be reckoned with" as soon as the song began. Blake tries to encourage Kim to go with Adam as he won last year, but Kim wants to know if Adam sees her as an R&B artist.
Christina thinks that she's the kind of vocalist that can sing anything she wants to, and Adam agrees. After a little deliberation, Kim chooses to work with Adam.
Cee Lo is disappointed that he didn't turn around as she's so pretty, but Adam thinks that besides being beautiful, she had some pitch issues. Christina also almost pressed her button, but admits that Pamela "fell off" just as she was about to turn around.
Blake is the first to take a chance on her, though Cee Lo isn't far behind. Adam also gets in on the action in the last few seconds of the song, much to Blake's dismay. Christina thinks that she has a really beautiful voice but is glad that she doesn't have to compete to get Gwen on her team. Blake calls her a "great country vocalist", saying that she's tender and powerful in the right places and that she's really developed in her craft. He also asserts himself as the "country guy".
Adam admits that it makes perfect sense that Gwen would go with Blake, but she kept his attention the whole time and made him feel "emotionally connected" throughout the performance. Cee Lo loves that her voice projected so well and was considerate and kind at the same time. Given an opportunity to think of who she'd like to work with, Gwen eventually chooses to go with Blake.
I'm picking her as an early favourite! Just want to record that here for posterity.
Despite a bit of talking between themselves, none of the coaches turn around. Cee Lo thought it was an "interesting" rendition, while Adam said that he enjoyed every second. Blake thought there was "so much of it", while Christina wished that there was more range as it stayed "wide open" the entire time. They thank him for his time and Neal goes home empty-handed.
Cee Lo comes around first - great news, as Jamar previously named the 'Forget You' singer as his personal inspiration. Incidentally, none of the other coaches follow suit, despite it being a really great performance. Christina loves that the performance made her happy as it's what the show is all about, but said that she kept from pressing her button as she knew it was all Cee Lo's thing. Adam says that he reminds him of Cee Lo and that it's a "match made in heaven". Cee Lo says that he has style and presence, and Jamar is all too happy to join his team.
Blake is the first to turn around and seems pleased with what he hears. After listening a bit more, both Christina and Cee Lo also decide to turn around, and Adam is close behind. Adam loves that the energy changed in the room when they began singing and that they can hold their own as singers. Cee Lo can sense their chemistry and a musical connection, mistakenly thinking that they must be a couple.
Christina starts by saying that she heard something amazing in them and could tell that they were having fun. Blake admits that he can relate to them as his own wife, Miranda Lambert, is also a singer. He also hopes that the fact he turned around first will work in his favour. Finally, The Line make their decision and they choose to work with Christina.
