The father-of-four, who has been working as a back-up singer for Alicia Keys, sang 'Complicated' by Avril Lavigne for his audition piece, eventually choosing to join Blake Shelton's team.

Speaking to social media correspondent Christina Milian backstage, he said: "I went with pure emotion, something I try not to do because sometimes I kind of overdo it with the heart singing, but they turned around when I did and that was cool."
As for how he felt when Shelton and Cee Lo Green turned their chairs around, he said: "I felt vindicated. When Cee Lo turned around part of me wanted to go with him so bad, I'm not even going to lie, and then when Blake turned around…
"What he said about he heard my voice and pictured who I am, that was the selling point for me. He saw who I was by hearing me so that's what got me to pick him."
