The Voice contestant Moses Stone has said that it was a "brave and bold" move to audition for the NBC vocal competition.
Stone became the first ever MC on The Voice when he auditioned on Monday night's (February 13) blind auditions episode and became a member of Christina Aguilera's team.

Speaking to reporters on a conference call, he said: "I think it's definitely time for hip-hop to actually be recognised in a lot of the competitions. There are not really many outlets for hip-hop artists to really showcase their talents.
"I feel that the show is technically called The Voice, but with every song and every artist it's based on lyrics, and it's based on the emotion and it's based on the connection with the audience."

He continued: "I feel that rapping is the same thing; it's poetry and it's a certain cadence and a person's tone and their delivery and in the way they speak and the way they project themselves, that is the same as using your voice and singing.
"Nowadays everything is all built together and hip-hop is definitely a big part of music.
"I just felt it was time to really just step up and do something different and really just bring it to the forefront. I really want to represent hip-hop, I want to represent pushing the boundaries and pushing the envelope between our artists."
As for working with Aguilera, he said: "I'm truly honoured and truly blessed and happy to be on her team."
The Voice airs Mondays at 8/7c on NBC.
