Richie previously said that he has known Aguilera "for a while" because she is friends with his daughter Nicole Richie, and also knows fellow coach Blake Shelton because he featured on Richie's new album Tuskegee.
An earlier preview released by NBC shows that Campbell is paired against Anthony Evans in his battle round, with both singers performing 'If I Ain't Got You' in a bid to get through to the next round.
Single dad Campbell had impressed all four coaches in his blind audition, opting to join Team Christina, while Evans became a member of Team Christina following his performance of 'What's Going On'.
The Voice airs Mondays at 8/7c on NBC
