Jamar has previously said that he spoke publicly about his HIV status and former drug addiction because he wanted to let people know "that there is hope for them and there's hope in time, and there is no pit too deep that you can't climb out of".
He added that meeting Cee Lo was "probably one of the highlights" of his life and explained: "A lot of people know him as talented and eccentric, but a lot of people don't know how wise he is and he really just spits some like real words of wisdom, like some life lessons."
Jamie has also praised Cee Lo, claiming that they "connect really well" and saying: "He's a very laidback guy, very real, very honest."
Jamie, who performed Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison Blues' during his blind audition, also admitted that his newfound fame is "very weird", adding: "I'm not on a Jeremy Lin-type status but it's really cool and I couldn't ask for more support from my hometown and the people watching The Voice."
