Thomas has apparently already begun work with Green on scouting possible singers for the show and has expressed his excitement at having the opportunity to foster new talent.

"I'm really excited to work with Cee Lo and love the idea that I may be in the room with a future superstar that the world has yet to discover," he said.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Michael Buble will work with coach Blake Shelton next season, while Mary J Blige will team up with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.

Green announced last week that he would postpone his Las Vegas show until 2013 over scheduling conflicts for The Voice.
