The pop singer told Billboard that she feels The Voice has distracted her from making music.
Aguilera explained: "[It] kept me away from my heart, which is creating my own music. It's been a joy to be a part of other people's journey, to be able to inspire and be a part of new singers coming up in this business.
"But I was starting to get really worried and concerned that I wouldn't have the time to go and be an artist again."

Though Aguilera is likely to be absent for season four of the show in order to promote her upcoming album, the 31-year-old performer says she and executive producer Mark Burnett have created a deal that will allow her to return for future seasons.
"I'll probably be back. I just need to do my thing for a minute then I can come back and be that much better of a coach," Aguilera said.
The 'Beautiful' singer plans to announce the title and release date of her new album later today (September 12).
