Ned Stark (Bean) was controversially killed off in the season's penultimate episode, but Bean will reprise his role one last time, according to TV Guide.
The character, who was beheaded on the orders of Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson), is expected to encounter three of his children in a "shocking" and unexpected way.
Sean Bean previously praised HBO for making the "courageous move" to kill off his character.
"I know HBO has a track record of bold moves but I thought this is pretty incredible if they can pull this off," he said. "I just thought it was a wonderful piece of work."
Game of Thrones concludes next Sunday at 9pm on HBO in the US, and at 9pm next Monday on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
