A prosthetic version of the former US president's head could be seen on a pike in the last episode of the show's first season.
HBO apologised for the inclusion - calling it "very bad taste" - and promptly took down the episode.
The edition was re-posted on Monday (June 25), featuring a digitally-altered head that now bears no resemblance to the president.
The use of Bush's likeness was first discovered as a result of a discussion between creators David Benioff and DB Weiss on the show's DVD commentary.
The third season of Game of Thrones will premiere in April 2013.
