Emilia Clarke on 'Game of Thrones' season three: 'I'm so excited'

Emilia Clarke has said that she cannot wait for Game of Thrones fans to see season three.

The actress - who plays the Khaleesi on the HBO series - spoke to reporters about the upcoming episodes while attending the Golden Globes on Sunday (January 13).

"I've never in my life been more excited to see a season as season three," Clarke declared to Access Hollywood, adding: "It's gonna be good."

Clarke remained coy when questioned further on the secrets of Game of Thrones' highly-anticipated third season.

"[There's] just so much more [drama]," she teased. "Well, from me, I'm not sure - [you'll] have to wait and see!"

Game of Thrones' third season is based on A Storm of Swords from George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series.

The HBO show's story editor Bryan Cogman recently hinted that several key characters will die in the new season.

"We get more and more amazing cast members every year and we kill a few too to make room, and that tradition is going to continue in season three," Cogman teased.

HBO premieres Game of Thrones' season three premiere on March 31 on HBO in the US and it will debut a day later on Sky Atlantic in the UK
