Poehler could lead the show, which is in development for NBC but so far has only one actor, Aziz Ansari, signed up. The move would mirror that of Tina Fey from SNL to NBC comedy 30 Rock.
The spinoff is scheduled to begin next spring, but development and writing are said to be at an early stage.
