'Mad Men' writer angry over spoilers

He told The Hollywood Reporter that he does not understand the psychology behind the practice.
"All the time I'm trying to explain to people that the mystery of the show is its commercial appeal and value, and that people do not want to know what's gonna happen," he said. "I don't understand it actually, as a television viewer, why there is pleasure in telling people these things. They make the people who do the spoiling happy."
Weiner also said that he follows the crew rules of The Sopranos - where he was supervising producer - when dealing with spoilers.
"I just take the cue from the way it was done on The Sopranos. Anybody who does spoil it, or has any relationship with the spoiler, will be excommunicated from participating in anything, and will not get information, will not come and visit the set. It's a mysterious thing to me."
Weiner signed a two-year deal to continue working on Mad Men earlier this year.
