The Sarah Michelle Gellar drama has struggled in the ratings, with audience numbers falling as low as 1.05m.
"It was not, I guess you could use the word 'accessible'," Pam Veasey told The Hollywood Reporter.
"[If we did it again] we'd make it more accessible for people who just drop in, probably do less in an episode. And what I mean by that is make it less complex in the plotting."
However, Veasey admitted that she loved Ringer's "complexity" and would be reluctant to "simplify" the show.
"I don't want to say simplify... but [we could] just sort of do less in an episode, a little bit less. We did a lot."
The exec also praised the dedication of Ringer fans, who memorised "every single detail" of the CW series.
"We have fun with the series because the audience who watches it every week absolutely loved it," she said.
The Ringer season finale aired last night (April 17) in the US. The series airs on Sky Living in the UK.
