Season 1, episode 15

This Week... Andrew (Ioan Gruffudd) proposes again and Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) realises she is in over her head. Meanwhile, Olivia (Jaime Murray) becomes increasingly suspicious of Malcolm (Mike Colter) and Juliet (Zoey Deutch) makes a decision that forces her mother Catherine (Andrea Roth) to take drastic measures.

Ringer Revealed... Siobhan's back in Paris as Ringer resumes, still convinced that Henry (Kristoffer Polaha) is the father of her unborn child. But the baby inheriting his boring gene isn't her biggest concern - Siobhan's having twins! Oh, and the conception date suggests that it's Andrew, not Henry, who's the daddy...

Siobhan informs her lover of the twin development, but not the fatherhood issues - now he's going to be twice as mad when he learns the truth! "Are you worried your husband is not the father?" Siobhan's doc asks her at one point. "I'm worried he is," she replies - I love you, Ringer.

Meanwhile, Bridget and Andrew are settling down for movie night and Ioan Gruffudd's English gent shows that he knows how to woo a lady, proposing for a second time with a candy ring - it makes a little more sense in context, but not much.

Andrew and Bridget prepare to 'renew their vows' - though technically it'll be their first wedding - but Malcolm is still convinced that Andrew is conducting some unspecific but quite reprehensible business dealings...

He's eventually able to steal an algorithm from the computer of Andrew's business partner Olivia which is able to manipulate data to make the company's returns seem more healthy. Quite how this works is never explained - rest assured, it's all very technical and clever.

Malcolm eventually becomes convinced that Olivia's running a Ponzi scheme, but when Siobhan confronts Andrew, he admits that *gasp* he's the one behind it. Following this revelation, next week's episode looks to be pretty Andrew-heavy - always a treat.

But the real fun this week comes from the still unfolding and spectacularly unlikely Juliet / Catherine / Carpenter fake rape and fraud plot. Carpenter (Jason Dohring) is now a suspect in Tessa's vicious beating - well, she did threaten him with sexual assault - and decides to help his case by making threatening calls to Juliet.

Catherine responds by upping her soap bitch quotient even more - "I know that you're upset," she tells her daughter over lunch. "But that is perfectly good Arugula you're wasting."

Eventually, Catherine promises to make Carpenter back off, but it wouldn't be Ringer if there wasn't another forehead-slappingly absurd twist in store. Catherine and Carpenter are naturally secret lovers - "You're going to stop harassing my daughter… and start harassing me!" she gasps as they share a clinch. No, really, this actually happens.

When exactly did Catherine and Carpenter meet and devise their sordid scheme? Don't worry about it - the writers clearly haven't. When Juliet suffers a crisis of conscience and considers confessing all to her father, Carpenter and Catherine go on the run and end up in a seedy motel...

But while Carpenter's taking a shower, Catherine vamooses with the money, leaving the creep a video recording showing him, Juliet and Tessa planning the fraud. Oh, and it's also revealed that Catherine was actually the one behind Tessa's beating. Next week, we'll learn that she was involved in the Kennedy assassination.

Andrew Highlight of the Week... Only one real contender - the moment where he enthuses that the flamboyant Franco is "the HOT wedding planner". Hilarious.
