'Modern Family' named as Ann Romney's favourite show, exec hits back

Modern Family's executive producer Steve Levitan has hit back after Ann Romney named the show her favourite television programme.

Ann, the wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, told Entertainment Tonight that she enjoys watching the ABC comedy.



However, Levitan responded to her comments on his Twitter page with a mischievous remark about her husband's stance on gay marriage.

"Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favourite show," he wrote. "We'll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam's wedding. As soon as it's legal."

Mitchell and Cameron, played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet respectively, are a gay couple and parents to a young daughter in the show.

Dee Snider recently complained about the fact that Mitt Romney's running mate Paul Ryan used a Twisted Sister track during his campaign.
