The 38-year old actor, whose previous television credits include Arrested Development and Chuck, will reportedly star as "an erratically brilliant biotech professor with some interesting ethical notions".
In other casting news, Scrubs has recruited Windell Middlebrooks to play one of the security guards at the new medical school and NCIS has put out a casting call for the recurring role of Agent Ruiz, "an attractive, athletic, and competent federal agent in her late 20s to mid 30s who tends to put her foot in her mouth".
