The drama's fifth run will be divided into two parts, with the first premiering on Sunday, July 15 at 10pm.
The first promotional picture from the new episodes features Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse (Aaron Paul), with the former's nose injury suggesting that the premiere will pick up soon after fourth season finale 'Face Off'.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan recently told Digital Spy that he and his writing team are working to make the final episodes as "satisfying as possible".
"I will say, at the end of the day, we're gonna do our damnedest to make this thing end with a blast and end on a high note, in a way that will satisfy everyone," he said.
After an initial eight-episode run, the final Breaking Bad episodes will follow on AMC in summer 2013. The series does not currently have a UK broadcaster, but is available on Netflix and on DVD.
